MARY TAPPERT
FINANCIAL COACHING
If you worry that you are not saving enough to live a comfortable life and that everyone else has this money thing all figured out, I want to tell you something:
You are not a bad person for what you did or didn’t do with your money.
You are a real human, who works hard and has built a beautiful life for themself. A human who has been failed by their financial education (or lack thereof). You deserve to live an abundant life, provide for your family, be comfortable in retirement, and free yourself from the constant anxiety you feel that there won’t be enough. And that's where I come in.
Hi! I am Mary Tappert. I help ambitious women in their 30s & 40s break free from money anxiety, understand where their money is being spent, and save for what’s important to them.
You’ve probably tried educating yourself on personal finance, budgeting on different apps, or forced yourself to funnel money into savings only to feel so deprived you end up spending it all and then some (hello credit card debt). Maybe some of this even worked before life got so complicated. As you climb the corporate ladder or open your own business, start your family (kids or fur babies) and take on more responsibility and stress, you don’t have the time or the bandwidth to make the best financial decisions for you and your family.
I know how hard it can be to break free from the financial stories we all grew up with. My financial journey started in kindergarten. Every day on the way home from school, my mom drove us past Baskin and Robbins, and every day I asked for ice cream. Most days, the answer was, "Sorry honey, no money". I am sure this was said in an effort to curtail a 6 year old from asking for ice cream every single day, but instead it ignited a fire in me to never not have enough again.
I found ways to make money whenever I could: selling various pretty rocks I found as a kid, babysitting when I turned 12, working my way through high school and college. I vowed to create generational financial wealth in my family. To me this means I am ending the scarcity and lack mindset that has existed in my family for many generations and teaching the tools to accumulate and maintain wealth from generation to generation. Not only am I doing this for my family, I am going to help you do it for your family too.
A few more things you should know about me:
I'm a Virgo and Manifestor. What this means is that I am great at making a list and getting things done to my high standards. I love to get things started and have an impact on the world around me.
I graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in Sociology which helps me see patterns in society and apply them to my clients.
I started my career working Financial Planning where one of the best lessons I learned from my clients is that is doesn't matter how much money you make, it matters what you do with that money.
I spent almost 10 years working in Corporate Compensation covering all things base pay, bonus, and equity. I loved being able to impact the financial lives of so many people.
I live in Seattle, WA with my husband and 6 year old daughter. I love to work on house projects, travel, and move my body (hot girl walks, aerial yoga, lifting heavy, and getting back into ballet classes).
